Totalitarianism means a government that takes total control. Stalin used totalitarianism to control all Soviet Union and control people's life.

"Five Years Plans" consisted in something almost impossible to do because he wanted to industrialized Russia in five year and the industrialization of a country takes a lot of money and time.

"the Great Purges" means that if there's someone that oppose him or don't follow his ruler he will kill that person.

The film Dr. Zhivago show how the Russian nation revolucionated and become a communism country. Some of the reason because the revolution happen were because workes were not treated fairly and the dodn't want no more war. In the film after Russian become a communism country People have to share everything such as houses. In a part of a film ,after Dr. Zhivago came back to Moscow he went to his house and it was all full of people, people that he didn't even know. This part of the film shows an example of communism.

Some of the main causes of the were:

Nationalism: Ideas such as only the strong survive was one that influenced nations to dominated other countries in war.

Military: Many countries were competing for military power. Countries such as French, Russia and Germany wanted to have the best military power in the world. This controversy led the WWI or "The Great War"

Assassination of Franz Ferdinand: After Franz Ferdinand die and Germany felt betray so the started attacking.

Collapse of the alliance system: After alliances were formed, the nation felt like their own alliance is going to betray them.

China believe that they were a independent country so they didn't want to deal with other countries. Britain had something that Chinese people wouldn't resist that is call "opium," Chinese people used to use it as drugs. Britain wanted to deal with China because they wanted China's tea. After a few time Chinese people started to become addicted to opium. China's government started to get angry because opium was destroying their people and the whole country. In order to stop this they didn't want to deal with
Britain anymore, but Britain didn't want to stop dealing with China, that's why started "the opium war." China refuse to deal with Britain and China try to block Britain's ships wanted to get in and force China to keep importing. Because of their technology and their better ships and weapons Britain people defeat Chinese people to easily.

For me "The White Man's Burden" means when people believe that they are more civilized and because of that they think that they can help other cultures to modernized and civilized them. One Great example is what is happening Between the U.S. and Irak. The U.S. is "trying" to help Irak, but they are really not doing nothing. I think that part of this of this poem is showing racism. I think that we still living "White Man's Burden" one hundred years later because as I said the U.S. want to change other country's government but they cannot do nothing.

Scramble for Africa means a time when Africa's land was take over by Europeans.After a lot of explorations on Africa, Europe started to take over the land. Europe started to take more and more land, this was called "Scramble for Africa". French was the main nation involved in the Scramble for Africa. Europeans were looking for African's sources because they wanted to power up their industries or factories. They were able to conquer Africa because of their technology and because of the large number of armies and powerful weapons. Europe wanted African sources because they wanted to power up their industries and factories. In order to do that they started to explored Africa. Some explorers such as John speak and Richard Burton started to explore Africa, but they were attacked by African natives. He tried again after few year, but this time they were carrying a lot of supplies and food too. As they were exploring people started to get sick of "molonia", however they had the cure for molonia and also people started to get thirsty because of the lack of water. Finally, they found the third biggest lake on the world and they called as a British queen (Lake Victoria). Europeans had advantages because they had better technology such as better weapons and better ships. Because of the better technology Europeans were able to conquer Europe so easily.

Japan liked to keep their people in their country and also Japan people tought that they were the best and they had the best culture. Also they thought that they were more advanced than any other culture but, when Matthew Perry show Japan new kind of technology in the ships and also the weapons were more powerful. All this new technology show Japan that what they thought was wrong. So they didn't like that because they were getting behind another cultures. Japan started to treat with Japan, a treat called treat which let American ships stay on Japan and also Japan people gave them food, water, and coul. But America had to give Japan some of the their technological ships. Japan also consider that modernization was necessary to their culture and Japan started to send people to America to see what was happening and to see if they can build the same thing and modernized them selves.

karl marx and the communism

Karl Marx idea's was to have a communism world. Communism it a a type of government that gives equal right to everyone, means that everybody will have the same things such as the same amount of money when you get pay and also you couldn't owner land the government will assign you a place where you live and you couldn't earn more money even if you had been studying your whole life. Karl Marx wanted a communism world because he thought that a communism world will be more fair and better. Karl Marx saw the factory owners as the "bad guys" because sometimes the workers were unfairly payed and the "good guys" were the workers because the always worked even in the worse conditions. But i think that communism never will take the world because people is too greedy.

Karl Marx believe that worker would control goverment in order to do that Karl Mark had an idea called Communism. Karl Marx wrote that wealth should be distributed.

Karl Marx didn't like the Industrial Revolution. He had a different view as other people such as Adam Smith. Adam Smith liked that Industrial Revolution but, Karl Marx hate Industrial Revolution because,It was unfair the way workers were treated. They worked in dangerous conditions were sometimes the worker can die. Evolution is a chage that the body allows to do it in order to survive. I think that the Dawin's theory of evolution is right because each animal depend on it trades acording to Darwin.
